2026 Hamilton County, Tennessee mayoral election

The 2026 Hamilton County mayoral election will be held on August 6, 2026, to determine the mayor of Hamilton County, Tennessee. The election will be held concurrently with primary elections for various state office primaries. Incumbent Republican mayor Weston Wamp, who is the son of former U.S. Representative Zach Wamp, was first elected in 2022, and is running for re-election.[1]
Republican primary
In February 2025, incumbent mayor Weston Wamp, the only candidate to file for the seat, was removed from the May 2026 Republican primary ballot by the Tennessee Republican Party among 148 other local candidates throughout the state. Wamp's spot was reinstated shortly thereafter in what he described as a "simple mix-up" in relation to party registration fees.[2]
