A general election will be held in the U.S. state of Alaska on November 3, 2026. Primary elections will take place on Aug 18, 2026.[1]
Federal offices
United States Senate
Two-term incumbent Dan Sullivan is running for re-election.[2] He is being challenged by former congresswoman Mary Peltola.[3]
United States House of Representatives
One term incumbent Nick Begich III is running for re-election.[4] He won his seat in a highly competitive election in 2024 against then incumbent congresswomen Mary Peltola.[5]
State offices
Governor
Two-term incumbent Republican Governor Mike Dunleavy is term-limited and cannot seek re-election. Alaskans elect their Governor and Lt. Governor on one ticket and current Lt. Governor Nancy Dahlstrom is running for Governor in 2026.[6]

House of Representatives
The Alaskan House of Representatives is currently governed by a Coalition Government with all Democrats and Independents and some Republicans in control of the government.[7]

Like the Alaskan House of Representatives, the Alaskan Senate is currently governed by a coalition government with all Democrats and some Republicans in control of the government.[8]
Judicial
Supreme Court
On November 5, Alaskan State Supreme Court Justice Jude Pate is up for re-election. These are non-partisan elections.[9]
Ballot measures
Two ballot measures are expected to appear on ballots for 2026 in Alaska.
- The "Establish Campaign Contribution Limits for State and Local Elections Initiative" will establish campaign contribution limits for state and local campaigns.[10]
- An initiative will seek to repeal ranked-choice voting, non-partisan primaries, and enhanced campaign finance disclosure requirements adopted with the passage of 2020 Ballot Measure 2. This will be the second initiative attempting to repeal ranked-choice voting, following the failed 2024 Ballot Measure 2.[11]
