The 2025–26 season is the 137th season in the history of Sheffield United and their second consecutive season in the Championship. In addition to the domestic league, the club would also participate in the FA Cup, and the EFL Cup.

Managerial changes

Prior to the season starting, the club and Chris Wilder mutually agreed to terminate his contract as manager.[3] He was quickly replaced by Rubén Sellés who signed a three-year contract as the manager.[4] Ruben Selles lost his first five games in a row, the worst start in Sheffield United's history and was relieved of his duites on 14 September 2025.[1] A day later, the club re-appointed Chris Wilder as manager on a two-year contract.[2]
