The 2025–26 season is Liverpool Football Club's 134th overall and their 64th consecutive season in the top flight of English football. In addition to the domestic league, the club is also participating in the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, the UEFA Champions League, and the FA Community Shield.
This is the first season since 2015–16 without Trent Alexander-Arnold, the first since 2020–21 without Luis Díaz and the first since 2019–20 without Diogo Jota, who died in a car accident on 3 July 2025.[1][2] On 11 July 2025, Jota's squad number 20 was retired across all levels in his memory.[3]
On 25 August 2025, Rio Ngumoha scored a 100th-minute winner against Newcastle United in the Premier League, becoming the club's youngest ever goalscorer at 16 years and 361 days.[4]
On 1 September 2025, Liverpool signed Alexander Isak from Newcastle United for £125 million, breaking the British transfer fee record.[5]
