The Belmore Creek Dam is an earth- and rock-filled embankment dam across Belmore Creek, located near Croydon, in north-western Queensland, Australia.

Overview

Completed in 1994, the dam is 15 metres (49 ft) high and 300 metres (980 ft) long. The result reservoir, Lake Belmore, has a capacity of 5,200 megalitres (4,200 acre⋅ft) and is primarily used for the supply of potable water to the town of Croydon.[1][2]

The reservoir is stocked with barramundi and redclaw crayfish.[3]
