Głuszyca (Wüstegiersdorf in German) is a railway station in Głuszyca, in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship of south-western Poland. It lies on railway line 286 between Jedlina-Zdrój and Głuszyca Górna.[1][4] According to the Passenger Portal of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe, the station is located at 58-340 Głuszyca and is partially accessible to passengers with reduced mobility.[1]
The station building is a protected historic monument. The National Heritage Board of Poland describes it as a brick Neo-Gothic railway building entered in the heritage register.[2]
History
Głuszyca station was established on the Wałbrzych–Kłodzko mountain railway, today designated railway line 286.[5] A historical postcard record held by the National Museum in Wrocław describes the station building as having been erected around 1880.[3]
In the German period the town and station were known as Wüstegiersdorf.[3] The station served the textile and industrial settlement that developed in the Bystrzyca valley, and later formed part of the wider rail network of the Owl Mountains area.[6]
Station building
The station building is listed by the National Heritage Board of Poland as a heritage railway structure in Neo-Gothic style.[2] Local documentation describes it as a late 19th-century building that originally housed passenger facilities and railway administration rooms and now serves residential purposes.[7]
Services
Głuszyca is served by regional passenger trains of Koleje Dolnośląskie.[8][9]
Current regional services from the station include trains towards Wrocław Główny, Świdnica Miasto, Jedlina-Zdrój, Wałbrzych Główny, Kłodzko Miasto, Kłodzko Główne and Kudowa-Zdrój.[8][9]
