Elma Zeidlere is a Latvian freestyle wrestler. She won the bronze medal in the women's freestyle 65 kg event at the 2023 European U23 Wrestling Championships in Bucharest. Latvian public broadcaster LSM described the result as the first medal won by a Latvian woman in wrestling at the European U23 Championships.[1]
Career
Zeidlere competed at the 2021 U23 World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade in the women's freestyle 65 kg event, where Latvian media reported that she finished in shared fifth place.[2]
In 2023, she won the bronze medal at the 2023 European U23 Wrestling Championships in Bucharest. LSM reported that the medal was the first won by a Latvian woman at the European U23 Championships in wrestling. In the same year, she also won bronze at the Klippan Lady Open in the 65 kg division.[1][3]
In 2024, Zeidlere competed at the 2024 European Wrestling Championships and the 2024 World Wrestling Championships. She also won bronze medals at the Poland Open and the Grand Prix de France Henri Deglane. Latvian media described her as a medallist at both the European and World U23 level while covering her development in domestic wrestling.[4][3]
In 2025, she won the silver medal at the Dan Kolov – Nikola Petrov Tournament and the bronze medal at the 2025 World Military Wrestling Championships in Warendorf. She also competed at the 2025 European Wrestling Championships and the 2025 World Wrestling Championships. Ahead of the world championships in Zagreb, LSM featured Zeidlere as Latvia's only female representative at the tournament.[5][3]
In 2026, she competed at the Klippan Lady Open in Sweden, where she finished seventh in her weight class.[3]
