Municipal elections are scheduled to be held on 26 October 2026, to elect the mayor and 25 city councillors in Toronto, Ontario Canada. In addition, school trustees will be elected to the Toronto District School Board, Toronto Catholic District School Board, Conseil scolaire Viamonde and Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir. The election will be held in conjunction with those held in other municipalities in the province of Ontario.
The nomination period for candidates opens 1 May 2026 at 8:30 am and closes 21 August 2026 at 2 pm.[1]
Mayoral election
Incumbent mayor Olivia Chow, elected in 2023, has not stated if she plans on seeking her first full term.[2]

- Michael Ford, Ontario minister of citizenship and multiculturalism (2022–2025), Progressive Conservative MPP for York South—Weston (2022–2025), city councillor for Ward 1 Etobicoke North (2016–2022), nephew of Ontario premier Doug Ford and former Toronto mayor Rob Ford.[6]
- Anthony Furey, fourth-place finisher in the 2023 mayoral by-election and second-place finisher in the 2024 Ward 15 Don Valley West council by-election.[7]

- Ben Mulroney, media personality, broadcaster, and son of former prime minister Brian Mulroney.[11] (Endorsed Bradford)
- Rod Phillips, Ontario minister of Finance (2019–2020) and Progressive Conservative MPP for Ajax (2018–2022).[12]

City council elections
Changes in membership
- Brad Bradford, councillor for Ward 19 Beaches—East York since 2018, will not seek re-election in order to run for mayor of Toronto.[25][26]
- Gary Crawford, councillor for Ward 20 Scarborough Southwest since 2010, resigned to run for the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario in the 2023 Scarborough—Guildwood provincial by-election.[27] The by-election to replace him was won by Parthi Kandavel.
- Jennifer McKelvie, councillor for Ward 25 Scarborough—Rouge Park since 2018, resigned to run for the Liberal Party of Canada in the 2025 Canadian federal election.[28] The by-election to replace her was won by Neethan Shan.
- Jaye Robinson, councillor for Ward 15 Don Valley West since 2010, died in 2024. The by-election to replace her was won by Rachel Chernos Lin.
