The 2009 Horizon League baseball tournament took place from May 19 through 23, near the close of the 2009 NCAA Division I baseball season. All seven of the league's teams met in the double-elimination tournament held at The Pipe Yard in Lorain, Ohio.[2] Third seeded Wright State won their third Horizon League Championship and earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2009 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.[3]
Seeding and format
The league's seven teams are seeded one through seven based on winning percentage, using conference games only. The bottom two seeds play a single elimination opening round, with the winner advancing to the double-elimination rounds. The top two seeds receive a single bye.[1]

Most Valuable Player
Kory Twede was named Most Valuable Player of the Tournament. Twede was an outfielder for Wright State who finished 12-for-22 (.545) with two doubles, two home runs, four runs, and nine RBI in five games.[4][3]
