The 2002 Louisville mayoral election was held on November 5, 2002. The Republican and Democratic primary elections were held on May 28.
This was the first election of the merged metro government of Louisville and Jefferson County. Incumbent Democratic mayor David L. Armstrong, who was elected by the voters of Louisville proper in 1998, declined to seek reelection.[1] He was succeeded by former mayor Jerry Abramson.
