Rineloricaria phoxocephala[3] is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the family Loricariidae, the mailed catfishes, and the subfamily Loricariinae, the suckermouth armored catfishes.[2] This catfish occurs in the Amazon River basin in the Brazilian states of Acre, Amazonas and Rondônia.[1] The species reaches a standard length of 15 cm (5.9 in) and is believed to be a facultative air-breather.[4]
