Krępiec (German: Graupenberg) is a mountain in the Włodzickie Hills (Wzgórza Włodzickie), in the Nowa Ruda Depression, in the Sudetes of south-western Poland. It rises to 645.2 metres (2,117 ft) above sea level.
Geography
Krępiec lies south-west of the town of Nowa Ruda, above the valley of the Włodzica. The mountain forms one of the hills surrounding Włodowice; according to the official website of Gmina Nowa Ruda, Włodowice is bordered on the east by Krępiec and by other summits of the Włodzickie Hills on the remaining sides.[1]
A marked tourist route, the Blue Polish–Czech Friendship Trail, runs across the slopes of Krępiec on its way from Nowa Ruda towards Włodowice and the Czech border.[2]
The summit area has also been used for transmission infrastructure. The Office of Electronic Communications lists a telecommunications site on Góra Krępiec in Nowa Ruda.[3]
