Kłodzka Góra is a mountain in the Bardzkie Mountains (Góry Bardzkie), part of the Sudetes in south-western Poland. Its summit elevation is about 757 metres (2,484 ft) according to modern GNSS and LiDAR-based surveys.[1] The mountain is a popular hiking destination and features an observation tower built in 2020.[3]
Geography
Kłodzka Góra lies in Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Kłodzko County. In the national register of geographical names (PRNG), the summit is recorded within the rural municipality of Gmina Kłodzko.[2] The summit area is forested.
Kłodzka Góra was long treated as the highest point of the Bardzkie Mountains in older peak lists and some map sources. A reassessment based on high-precision measurements showed that the neighbouring Szeroka Góra is higher (about 766 metres (2,513 ft)), while Kłodzka Góra ranks second in the range.[1]
Observation tower
A steel observation tower was erected on the summit in 2020. It is approximately 34.5 metres (113 ft) high and provides panoramic views over the surrounding Sudetic ranges.[3][4]
Geology
The Bardzkie Mountains form part of the Central Sudetes and include extensive exposures of folded and faulted sedimentary rocks (including Carboniferous greywackes and mudstones), reflecting the complex tectonic evolution of the Sudetic region.[5]
Access
Kłodzka Góra is reached by marked hiking routes; the summit and its tower are listed as a point of interest on the Lower Silesian PTTK trail portal.[3]
