Emine Çakmak (born 27 July 2003 in Esenler, Istanbul, Turkey) is a Turkish female freestyle wrestler. She competes in the 57 kg division. She won the gold medal at the 2019 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival and the bronze medal at the 2021 World Junior Wrestling Championships.[1]
Career
At the 2019 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival in Baku, Çakmak won the gold medal in the girls' 49 kg event. According to Anadolu Agency, she defeated Romania's Ana-Maria Pirvu in the final and secured Turkey's first gold medal of the festival.[2]
In 2021, she won the bronze medal in the women's 53 kg event at the 2021 World Junior Wrestling Championships in Ufa. Turkish media reported that she defeated India's Pinki Pinki, then beat Poland's Agata Kazimierczak in repechage, and overcame Kyrgyzstan's Aizhan Kyzy in the bronze-medal match.[3]
In 2022, Çakmak won the gold medal at the FISU World Cup in the 53 kg category.[4]
In 2025, she placed fifth at the 2025 U23 World Wrestling Championships in Novi Sad. According to United World Wrestling, she defeated Nargiz Samadova and Anastasiia Kozlova before losing to Aryna Dzemchanka Martynava in the semi-finals and to Cuba's Yaynelis Sanz Verdescia in the bronze-medal match.[5][6]
She later competed at the 2025 World Wrestling Championships in Croatia and finished 18th in the women's freestyle 57 kg event.[7]
In June 2025, Çakmak won the bronze medal in the women's freestyle 57 kg event at the 2025 Yaşar Doğu Tournament in Kocaeli.[8]
In January 2026, she won the silver medal at the 2026 Yaşar Doğu Tournament in Antalya in the same weight class.[9]
