Statistics
Clinton carried Porter County, Indiana, which had previously supported the Republican presidential candidate in every election since the party's founding, ending the second-longest Republican streak in U.S. presidential politics. (The longest, Carroll County, Illinois's, would remain unbroken until the 2008 United States presidential election.)[6] As of the 2024, this is the most recent presidential election in which Blackford, Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Gibson, Jefferson, Knox, Pike, Posey, Sullivan, Switzerland, and Warrick counties voted for the Democratic ticket.[7]
