History

The German name Freirichterkoppe is attested in pre-1945 guidebook literature.[4]

Świerkowa Kopa is chiefly noted in the historical literature as the mountain under which the railway tunnels between Bartnica and Świerki Dolne were driven on the Wałbrzych–Kłodzko line. According to Przemysław Dominas, the first tunnel was built in 1876–1879 under the supervision of the builder Treibich, while the second parallel bore was constructed in 1909–1911 under Rietzsch, Frewert and Buddenberg.[1]
