Ścinawka Średnia is a railway station in Ścinawka Średnia, in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship of south-western Poland. It lies on railway line 286 between Kłodzko Główne and Wałbrzych Główny, and is also the junction for railway line 327 from Słupiec.[2][3][4]
The station serves as an important local rail point in the north-western part of Kłodzko County and is listed by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe as accessible to passengers with reduced mobility.[2]
History
Ścinawka Średnia developed as a station on the historic railway route linking Wałbrzych with the Kłodzko area, now designated railway line 286.[5]
In 1903, a railway line from Ścinawka Średnia to Radków was built as an extension of the Owl Mountains Railway network.[6] In current PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe documentation, the remaining branch towards Nowa Ruda Słupiec is designated railway line 327.[7]
In 2019 PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe announced reconstruction works at Ścinawka Średnia, including the renewal of platform 2 and improved accessibility for passengers.[8] In 2022 the company reported further track and signalling upgrades at the station, describing new facilities for freight handling and better access to trains for residents, including a new platform and lifts.[9]
Station layout
According to PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe's platform register, Ścinawka Średnia has two platforms serving two tracks.[1] The Passenger Portal lists the station as fully accessible.[2]
The station building stands on Kolejowa Street and remains the principal rail facility for the settlement. The present layout reflects both passenger use and the station's continuing role in freight traffic on the local rail network.[2][8]
Services
Ścinawka Średnia is served by regional passenger trains of Koleje Dolnośląskie.[10]
Current regional services from the station include trains towards Wałbrzych Główny, Wałbrzych Miasto, Nowa Ruda, Kłodzko Miasto, Kłodzko Główne and Kudowa-Zdrój.[10]
