Zanjani Sahib shrine
Zanjani Sahib shrine is a famous Sufi shrine situated in the Chah Miran area of Lahore city, Pakistan.[1] An early Sufi saint, Syed Miran Hussain Zanjani (died 1042 CE) is buried here. He is a Hussaini Syed and arrived from his native Zanjan in Iran to preach Islam in Lahore.

Origin & Family Lineage • Birthplace: Zanjan, Iran (a historic city at the foothills of Mount Libarz). • Lineage: From the Sadat-e-Zanjani family, descendants of Imam Musa al-Kazim (AS), the 7th Imam. • Hazrat Abu Jafar al-Bariqi, a descendant of Imam Musa al-Kazim (AS), migrated from Baghdad to Zanjan in the 3rd Hijri century. • From this branch came Hazrat Miran Hussain Zanjani (RA) (elder saint, Lahore) and Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh Syed Ali Hujwiri (RA), both from the same Sadat family. • Hazrat Miran Hussain Zanjani (RA) even foretold the coming of a great saint from his own family — later fulfilled in the birth of Sheikh Saad bin Ali Zanjani.
Spiritual Chain (Silsila) • Khalifa & mureed of Hazrat Shaykh Nizamuddin Auliya (RA), Mahboob-e-Ilahi.
• Contemporary and considered peer-bhai (spiritual brother) of Hazrat Naseeruddin Chiragh Dehlvi (RA).
• Known for close companionship with these Chishti luminaries.
Migration & Preaching • After the passing of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya (RA), he migrated from Delhi → Gujarat → Deccan in 725 AH. • Settled in Gulbarga (Kalaburagi), actively preaching Islam in a region then dominated by disbelief and idolatry. • Thousands embraced Islam under his guidance.
Final Years & Urs • Wafat: 22 Shawwal 740 AH. • Urs: Celebrated annually 21–23 Shawwal at Gulbarga Sharif with great devotion. • Tradition: Fatiha with Hari Bhaji and Roti at the Dargah Sharif. • Hazrat Banda Nawaz Gesu Daraz (RA) regularly visited his shrine every Thursday during his lifetime.
