Yorgos Mavropsaridis (Greek: Γιώργος Μαυροψαρίδης, romanized: Giorgos Mavropsaridis; born 21 November 1954) is a Greek film editor. He is known for his collaborations with director Yorgos Lanthimos, having edited all his films to date.[1] He is a graduate of the London Film School and honed his skills working in commercials.[2] He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Film Editing for his work on The Favourite[3] and Poor Things.[4]
He is often known by the nickname "Blackfish", which is the literal English translation of his surname.[5][6]
