Yadira Jiménez Argüello (born 22 September 1928), known professionally as Yadira Jiménez, is a Colombian actress.

Career

She started her professional career in Costa Rica as violin and piano player, as well as a dancer of exotic rhythms. Later on she moved to Cuba, where she met Kiko Mendive, who offered her an opportunity to travel to Mexico and become an actress. Once there, she join the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema, making her acting debut in 1945 with the film Entre hermanos. A year later, she played an antagonist in Pasiones tormentosas (1946).[1]

Her later Mexican films included El amor de mi bohío (1947), Doña Clarines (1951), Amor perdido (1951), Furia roja (1951), Huracán Ramírez (1953) and Cuatro horas antes de morir (1954), her final film. Internationally, she worked in the American film Casa Mañana, the Mexican-American version of Furia roja, Stronghold (1951), the Cuban-Venezuelan Honor y gloria, and the Cuban La renegada (1951).[2][3]

After getting married with Gustavo Covo, she retired from entertainment media to form a family and have children, moving back to Costa Rica.[4]
