West Bontang (Indonesian: Bontang Barat, Indonesian pronunciation: [ˌbon̪t̪aŋ ˈbarat̪̚]) is a district of the Bontang, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. As of 2024, it was inhabited by 31,634 people, and currently has a total area of 17.94 km2. Its district seat is located at the village of Kanaan.[3]

The district was separated on 16 July 1999 from North Bontang.[1] West Bontang shares borders with Teluk Pandan to the west and north, North Bontang to the east, and South Bontang to the south.
