Warno is a 2024 real-time tactics and turn-based strategy video game created and published by Eugen Systems, released into early access on 20 January 2022, and fully released on May 23, 2024. A spiritual successor to Wargame: European Escalation, also developed by Eugen, it takes place in a Cold War gone hot setting along the Inner German Border and Czechoslovakia, portraying a conventional conflict between NATO and the Warsaw Pact.

Gameplay

Warno is a strategy game with a real-time tactical layer (for the missions & map levels) and a turn-based strategic layer (for the Army General campaigns). Players control individual units meant to represent historical military vehicles and infantry formations of the Cold War. There are many game modes in Warno focusing on various goals, such as acquiring an amount of points from objectives in the Conquest mode or destroying a number of enemy units in Destruction.[1] The game is played by anywhere between 1 and 20 people, with multiplayer games scaling up to 10 versus 10. Single-player play takes the form of skirmishes against the AI, scripted battles set in specific places, and a turn-based strategic campaign.

In both multiplayer and single-player modes, all players receive a ticking income of points to spend on deployable units, such as infantry, artillery, tanks, reconnaissance units, air defense units, attack helicopters, helicopter-borne infantry, and aircraft. The units available to the player depend on their chosen battlegroup. Various battlegroups have different specializations, such as a focus on infantry combat or combined arms warfare. Some basic unit functions can be assigned to the AI, but a majority of actions are done by the player. Units are controlled in real time.[2]

The playable formations (known as 'Battlegroups') in game are inspired from the orders of battle of divisions, regiments, and some corps that would have likely engaged each other during the initial stages of war along the German border in the year 1989, such as the American 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment or the Soviet 79th Guards Tank Division. NATO forces are exclusively those based out of CENTAG, the NATO formation which served in Central Europe, especially Germany.[3]

While the tactical gameplay is similar to Wargame, Warno has received considerable quality of life improvements and gameplay changes seen in the Steel Division titles, including allowing the AI to carry out smart orders for player units, the reworked deck system incorporating the orders of battle of in-game divisions, and variants and traits of units in the armory. Warno also incorporated dedicated single-player content, such as (turn-based) Army General campaigns and (real-time) Operations, from Steel Division 2.[4] The game includes a basic map editor for player use which allows for simple asset manipulation.[5]

Story

The story of Warno takes place in an alternate world of 1989. The point of divergence is in April 1987 when hardliners stage a coup against Mikhail Gorbachev due to his perestroika reforms. The Communist Party, KGB, and Soviet Army form a troika to restore glory to the Soviet Union. Unrest in the Baltic and Armenia is crushed and, spurred on by the inaction of the West, the USSR launches a takeover of Finland, installing a pro-Soviet government and bringing that country firmly in their sphere of influence. This spurs the West, led by the United States under Ronald Reagan, to increase military spending. Western sanctions and increased military spending leads to food shortages and an oil crisis in the Soviet Union. Meanwhile, NATO conducts a larger than ever Exercise Reforger in September 1989, which the paranoid troika fears is a cover for conflict. Under the cover of their own Zapad exercise, the Warsaw Pact prepares to strike first.

Army General Campaigns

As of November 2025, there are nine Army General campaigns taking place across various parts of the conflict and in the CENTAG, NORTHAG, and SOUTHAG areas of operations. "Bruderkrieg", "Fulda Gap", and "Airborne Assault" take place on Day 1 of the conflict. "The Left Hook" takes place on Day 4. Lastly, "Highway 66" takes place on Day 7.

The new NORTHAG DLC added two more Army General campaigns, taking place along two main axis of attack by the Warsaw Pact armies in NORTHAG, "Four Day To The Weser" (Lüneburg-Bremen) and "Armored Fury" (Hanover-Osnabrück). Both of the campaigns take place on Day 4 of the conflict.

A further two Army General campaigns were added as part of the SOUTHAG DLC, with both taking place after a failed Soviet offensive from Czechoslovakia into West Germany. "Holding Attack" and "Closing the Trap" campaigns take place on Day 6 of the conflict.

Operations

In addition to the Army General campaigns, there are also twelve single mission operations, focusing on single engagements between various elements of NATO and the Warsaw Pact.

Base Game Operations

Warno released alongside eight singleplayer operations back in 2024.

Black Horse's Last Stand (21 June 1989) - Fulda was lost within 24 hours. The 11th Armoured Cavalry Regiment "Black Horse" fought valiantly but overwhelming firepower from the 8th Guards Army forced 11th ACR to fall back. Now battered, the 1-11th ACR has fallen back to the town of Bad Orb, with the Soviet 39th Guards Motorized Division in hot pursuit. 1-11th ACR is ordered to take up a blocking position outside the town in order to cover the approach to Frankfurt, while they wait for Bundeswehr reinforcements to arrive.

Sledgehammer (25 June 1989) - By the third day of the war, the Soviets had reached Hanau, on the outskirts of Frankfurt-am-Main. Though they have been successful so far, NATO resolve is stiffening. Eager to keep up their momentum, 57th Guards Motorized Rifle Division has been tasked to conduct a combined arms assault to clear the remaining outposts and blocking positions in the Main valley and enable the 79th Guards Tank Division to exploit their success and drive on to Frankfurt.

Red Juggernaut (23 June 1989) - The 79th Guards Tank Division has led the Soviet thrust into West Germany. Their advance has pushed elements of 11th ACR into U.S. 3rd Armored Division's lines and the Americans are rapidly trying to set up a defensive line. The 79th Guards Tank must keep up the pressure on the Americans and break through their lines at Ortenberg so the advance on Frankfurt can continue.

Backhand Blow (25 June 1989) - The Soviet offensive towards Frankfurt has been contained, though the city of V Corps rear support area are still under threat. as the 79th Guards Tank Division regroups at Bruchköbel, U.S. 3rd Armored Division plans to launch a swift counterattack against them, in hopes of throwing the Soviets off balance and allowing NATO to gain the local initiative.

The Kitzingen Ruse (20 June 1989) - In the opening hours of the war, the Warsaw Pact prepares to attack Würzburg, hoping to open an alternate axis of advance towards Frankfurt to the northwest. The VDV's 900th Air Assault Battalion is tasked with seizing the town of Kitzingen and establishing a bridgehead over the Main river. The 900th must hold this location against counterattacks by the Americans and West Germans, while they await reinforcements that are surely on their way....

Götterdämmerung (28 June 1989) - Tasked with screening the southern flank of the Warsaw Pact's thrust into CENTAG, the NVA's 11th Mot.-Schützendivision found itself overextended and soon blocked by NATO forces. Forced to retreat with heavy losses, its forces are in disarray as U.S. and West Germany armored formations purse it. The 1st Battalion of Mot.-Schützenregiment MSR-17 is tasked with defending the town of Stegaurach on the approaches to Bamberg in order to give its parent division a chance to reorganize.

The Dieburg Salient (30 June 1989) - The outbreak of World War III has spurred France into answering it obligation to NATO. However, France's scheduled deployment is moved up as Warsaw Pact forces threaten to encircle Frankfurt. 7e Division Blindée has been moved up to a salient protruding into the Warsaw Pact lines near Dieburg. Here the division must hold their position while follow-on French forces deploy behind it in preparation for the counterattack towards Frankfurt.

Hold Until Relieved (22 June 1989) - In the early days of the invasion, the British Army of the Rhine found itself hard pressed on every side, and none more so than in British I Corps area of operations. an infantry battalion from the Queen's Own Highlanders has managed to take up positions behind the Diemel river but their numbers are too few. A squadron of tanks from the Blues & Royals is sent to reinforce them, check the Soviet advance, and if possible, launch a counterattack.

NORTHAG Operations

As part of the NORTHAG DLC, four new operations were released.

Running the Gauntlet (21 June 1989) - The Warsaw Pact's offensive into NORTHAG quickly brushes aside resistance west of the Eble-Seiten Canal. One of the units cut off in this rapid advance is the Bundeswehr's Kampfgruppe von Jagow. I Dutch Corps has dispatched 42 Tankbataljon and some American units in an attempt to rescue the West Germans. Their goal is to conduct a counter-attack, open a corridor, and evacuate the West Germans before they are over run.

The Winged Hussars (26 June 1989) - The Polish Second Army attacks south of Hanover, led by the Polish 11th Armoured Cavalry Division. However, their attack is interrupted by a daring British air assault which cuts off elements of the formations. Two armored companies are tasked with linking up with their besieged compatriots and renew the attack on Hamelin.

Marauders (24 June 1989) - Warsaw Pact forces have successfully fixed NATO forces outside of Hamburg and are prepared to open a new attack towards Denmark. However, this move leaves them open to a daring attack by NATO. NATO's MultiNational Airborne Division conduct a nighttime airborne operation against a logistical hub in Kasseburg. While they seize their objective, the mixed force of British, Belgian, and West German forces must consolidate their position and prepare for an inevitable Polish counterattack.

Survivors (28 June 1989) - After a week of hard combat, NATO forces have managed to hold the line on NORTHAG's southern flank. However, this defense is quickly shattered by a surprise "left hook" attack by the 1st Guards Tank Army. In the wake of the attack, several British, West German, and Belgian combat groups in the area around Beverungen find themselves isolated. One of the groups, the 16th/5th The Queen's Royal Lancers must fight their way back to friendly lines, gathering any ally units they can in the process.

SOUTHAG Operations

As part of the SOUTHAG DLC, another four new operations were released.

Siegfried's Wrath (1 July 1989) - As part of their limited offensive into southern Germany, Czechoslovak forces have occupied the town of Deggendorf. Now SOUTHAG has deemed the town as the prime target to begin their strategic counter-offensive. Recon and artillery elements of the 1st Luftlandedivision will support the attack force as they attack the town and then help to defeat any follow-on counterattack.

Delayed Retribution (1 July 1989) - After the encirclement and destruction of the Soviet 31st Tank Division, the French 6th Light Armoured Division is sent to exploit the gaps, but was quickly bogged down by arriving Czechoslovak troops and Mi-24s and now must hold out for the 16F Squadron from the Clemenceau to arrive.

Glory or Attrition (2 July 1989) - In the opening stages of SOUTHAG's counter-offensive, West German and Canadian forces fixed a number of Warsaw Pact forces near the Czechoslovakian boarder. Now the Canadians have been tasked to with blocking the retreat of remnants of the Czech 19th Motorized Rifle Division. However, the Czech 1st Tank Division arrives in time to halt the Canadians. The Canadians must now destroy Czechoslovakian strongpoints and drive the enemy from the field.

The Hydra (3 July 1989) - The Czechoslovak 1st Tank Division has been ordered to halt the multi-pronged NATO offensive converging on Plzeň, which includes five NATO formations consisting of French, West German, and Canadian troops. A force consisting of two tank companies, a mechanized infantry company, and air support in the form of Su-25s, MiG-23s, and Su-22s has been tasked with containing the NATO Hydra at all costs.

Divisions

Following the precedent set by Eugen's Steel Division series, players have a list of formations based on real-life military formations to pick from when competing in multiplayer or fighting against AI in skirmish. Each division has its strengths and weaknesses.

NATO

United States

- 1st Cavalry Division**: This distinguished American division fields a wide array of capable tanks, further bolstered by British armor. With few infantry, this Anglo-American battlegroup deploys several unique Abrams and Bradley variants, dominating the open range.

- 3rd Armored Division: The tip of the spear, this offensively geared American division contains powerful high-end armor, IFVs and aircraft. Slow to open, expensive to deploy, and with small infantry squads, the battlegroup's full potential typically unlocks late into a battle.

- 6th Infantry Division**: A mix of airborne and reserve infantry fills up the ranks of this defensive-minded Arctic Warfare battlegroup. Lacking heavy armor, the American multi-service division's very powerful air support is the ticket to victory.

- 8th Infantry Division: A strong combined-arms American battlegroup, with an edge in infantry and Ranger squads, supported by potent artillery and air units. While the division lacks speed, its firepower is more than capable of bleeding the enemy dry over time.

- 9th Infantry Division*: This high-tech American motorized division dominates the fight with hit-and-run attacks and ambushes. Mobile wheeled ATGM destroyers allow the versatile but light battlegroup to fend off enemy armor, with its National Guard contingent providing additional staying power.

- 24th Infantry Division: Bolstered by a core of regulars, this American mechanized infantry division can also deploy National Guard units, giving commanders access to numerous cheap but strong forces. Air power is especially formidable, with the F-15E Strike Eagle more than capable of picking off high-value targets.

- 35th Infantry Division: A well-rounded National Guard battlegroup, in which numerous second-generation M60A1 main battle tanks can be deployed en masse. Excellent air defense and ground strike aircraft act as a potent force multiplier.

- 82nd Airborne Division: First to fight, this American airborne division prides itself on opening strong with Forward Deployed paratroopers and excellent recon vehicles. Supported by top-end aircraft and helicopter forces, this light battlegroup should avoid being cornered by combined-arms opponents in unfavorable terrain.

- 101st Airborne Division**: An excellent roster of airmobile infantry and special forces form the beating heart of this hard-and-fast American airborne battlegroup. Favoring early aggressive pushes, a powerful flying arsenal of helicopters, gunships, and aircraft backs up the boots on the ground.

11th Armored Cavalry Regiment: With excellent recon, tank, and air units, this mechanized battlegroup is best used offensively. Aggressive tactics early on can derail enemy plans, all the while the division build up to unleash scores of M1A1 Abrams for a mighty late-battle armored push.

United Kingdom

- 1st Armored Division: A heavy brawler, this British armored division deals damage with its advance long-range ATGM carriers, while its more than capable tanks advance under fire. Air cover is likewise formidable, from air defense to closer air support.

- 2nd Infantry Division: This British division is strong in the early battle due to its airmobile troops and powerful SAS special forces. Battlefield mobility is excellent, as is its infantry, which should be used to create a long-lasting defense in depth.

- 4th Armored Division*: This British armored formation has a well-balanced arsenal of competent infantry, armor, and air support. It can outlast the enemy in any scrappy brawl, as long as the division's mix of older equipment is put to good and careful use.

- MNAD* The multinational mix of various NATO airmobile units, each with a well-balanced roster of paratroopers, infantry, and vehicles. This light but flexible airborne division is equally comfortable in close-combat operation as in long-range defense.

- Berlin Command: This multinational infantry division under British command is honed to fight on urban battlefields. Strong in early recon pushes, defense is the battlegroup's strength, with stealthy strikes and massive raids by its potent bomber force keeping the enemy at bay.

- H. D. R. London** The Queen's Guard is one of the many unusual units in this unique composite but highly motivated London-based defensive garrison, which also includes counter-terror SAS squads and ceremonial artillery guns.

France

- 5e Division Blindée: Rapid and mobile, this French armored division uses its wheeled tanks and strong IFVs to wreak havoc in ambushes and lightning-fast screening operations. Excellent infantry and artillery give support, but avoid going head-to-head against heavier adversaries.

- 6e Division Blindée*: Exceedingly rapid on the battlefield, this French light division leverages its fast wheeled tanks and recon for a powerful opener. Legionnaire infantry can be employed in a layered defense, but avoid being pinned down by heavier opponents.

- 11e Division Parachutiste : Airmobile infantry with Forward Deployment and hard-hitting recon are hallmarks of this light airborne division. Using superior mobility, the French paratrooper battlegroup keeps the enemy off-balance with ground ambushed and pinpoint air strikes.

- 152e division d'infanterie**: This French stronghold division, with a diverse selection of elite special forces, is backed by a large number of reservists. Flexible and mobile, with powerful anti-air defenses and air cover, this defensive battlegroup keeps its opponents on its toes.

- Division du Rhin*: A Franco-West German rear-area division, defensive operations are this battlegroup's strong point. Older armored vehicles are backed by numerous combat engineers, reservists, well-equipped Jager infantry, and an array of specialized weaponry.

Canada (Added as part of the SOUTHAG DLC)

- 1st Canadian Division*: Plentiful infantry and state-of-the-art Eryx and ADATS missiles form the core of this mobile Canadian mechanized division. Backed by a massive fleet of modern F-18s, it might struggle in a head-to-head fight if its air cover is neutralized.

West Germany/Federal Republic of Germany

- 1. Luftlande-Division*: A unique mixed air assault division with a sizable number of West German mountaineers. This formation excels in early-battle action, as well as fighting in rugged terrain, but features minimal anti-air defenses.

- 2. Panzergrenadierdivision: Strong across the board with numerous capable units, this West German mechanized infantry battlegroup includes Forward Deployable Fallschirmjagers. Counting on multinational NATO support, the battlegroup's vulnerable to SEAD strikes, making air superiority imperative.

- Territorialkommando Süd: A rear-area defensive division, with West German reservists joined by French airmobile and American special forces. Powerful anti-air units and artillery, plus a unique mix of aircraft, compensate for the battlegroup's older equipment, tanks, and ATGM troops.

Netherlands (Added as part of the NORTHAG DLC)

- 4e Divisie*: An armored spearhead used for heavy-hitting breakthrough operations. This Dutch division can muster a powerful combination of modern tanks, IFVs, and tank destroyers, but lacks vigorous air cover.

- CLKA (Added as part of the FLC): An abbreviation of Commando LegerKorpsAchtergebied or "Rear Area Command". This second-line Dutch division features plenty of well-trained reservists, managing to execute capable combined arms operations on the battlefield. This includes American air support and the modern Leopard 2A4 tank.

Belgium(Added as part of the NORTHAG DLC)

- 16de Pantserdivisie*: A light armored division with affordable Leopard 1 tanks, mechanized infantry, and IFVs. This Belgian battlegroup can strike early and often, but might struggle against heavier opponents.

- DivMob (Added as part of the FLC): Short for Division Mobilisation. Airborne infantry and ATGM teams, backed by large numbers of older armored vehicles, can tip the scales for this Belgian division. This rear-area mechanized battlegroup lacks helicopters and relies on a vintage arsenal, but is still a force to be reckoned with thanks to its artillery and anti-air units.

Spain (Added as part of the SOUTHAG DLC)

- Division Acorazada 'Brunete'*: This Spanish light cavalry division relies on its fast recon forces to aggressively seize territory early in a battle. Hold gains with cheap armor and wheeled tank destroyers, backed by capable supporting arms and air cover.

- División de Infantería Mecanizada "Guzmán el Bueno" n.º 2**: A light Spanish motorized division is centered around the BMR APC and fast infantry units. The lack of forward deployment options is compensated by a plethora of light armor and recon, backed by a well-balanced selection of artillery.

Warsaw Pact

Soviet Union

- 1-ya Gv. Motostrelkovaya Diviziya**: A renowned Soviet Army formation in which regular and reserve forces work in close cooperation. Cheap T-72s and infantry shield the division's arsenal of powerful anti-tank units, but with few ways to mask an attack, care should be taken on the battlefield.

- 2-ya Gv. Motostrelkovaya Diviziya**: This honorific Moscow-based formation is a highly motivated infantry division with access to some of the most advanced unit of the Soviet Army. The straightforward combined arms approach sees its well-trained Gvardeitsy squads team up state-of-the-art T-80U tanks.

- 17-ya Gvardeyskaya Tankovaya Diviziya*: A Soviet reservist mobilization division with an eclectic arsenal of older tanks, artillery and even World War II-era assault guns. Best used in close-range defensive fights.

- 27-ya Gv. Motostrelkovaya Diviziya***: With the latest Soviet Army equipment at its disposal, this modern combined-arms battlegroup merges plentiful mechanized IFVs and infantry with potent artillery. Its high-end units are powerful, but limited in number.

- 39-ya Gv. Motostrelkovaya Diviziya: An archetypal Soviet motorized rifle division, with a balanced arsenal across its armored, helicopter, and mechanized infantry forces. This battlegroup performs equally well in offensive and defensive operations.

- 79-ya Gv. Tankovaya Diviziya: A top-notch armored division capable of brute-forcing its way through stiff opposition. From main battle tanks to heavy bombers, this Soviet battlegroup take time to build up its strength on the battlefield.

- 25-ya Tankovaya Diviziya*:Armored superiority for this Soviet tank division comes in the form of massed T-64s. A unique but unbalanced organization results in deficiencies in logistics and infantry, which are offset by artillery and heavily armored recon troops.

- 31-ya Tankovaya Diviziya*: An arsenal of T-72s, along with numerous infantry, allows this Soviet tank division to hold any territory it gains comfortably. Air and helicopter support might be meagre, but artillery more than compensates.

- 157-ya Motostrelkovaya Diviziya: A Soviet mobilization division based in the Crimea filled with mothballed equipment and reservists. An eclectic mix of weaponary, including Soviet Navy assets, can give this defensive battlegroup's untrained mass of infantry a surprising punch on the battlefield.

- 35-ya OG Desantno-Shturmovaya Brigada: This well-trained Soviet air assault division excels in fast-moving operations and aggressive opening attacks. It contains a high ratio of Forward Deployable mechanized vehicles, light but heavily armed, supported by special forces and advanced Ka-50 attack helicopters.

- 56-ya OG Desantno-Shturmovaya Brigada**: A versatile half-mechanized Soviet air assault division with numerous veteran soldiers, Spetsnaz special forces, and a host of unorthodox field-modified vehicles. With unrivaled battlefield mobility, this battlegroup's arsenal is equally colorful as it is powerful.

- 76-ya Gv. Vozdushno-desantnaya Diviziya**: With an emphasis on mechanization, this Soviet airborne battlegroup relies on its state-of-the-art armored vehicles and air cover for its battlefield firepower. Light but hard-hitting, the battlegroup lacks in air assault capabilities and helicopter gunships.

- 6-ya OG Motostrelk. Brig.: A Soviet combined-arms battlegroup with key East German support. An array of cheap bombers and infantry, with a few airmobile troops, allows it to fight well in urban or rugged terrain. Air defense, with its long-range AA units and interceptors, is another strong point.

- 119-ya Otd. Tank Polk: An unstoppable juggernaut late in the battle, this armored spearhead is built for high-intensity tank warfare. Its expensive state-of-the-art Soviet tanks, air, and special forces take time to build up in sufficient numbers.

Polish People's Republic (Added as part of the NORTHAG DLC)

- 4 Dywizja Zmechanizowana*: This flexible Polish mechanized division is well suited for combined-arms operations from aggressive opening moves to massed offensives. The battlegroup in the early to mid-battle, thanks to its cheap tanks and mechanized infantry.

-20 Dywizja Pancerna*: A strong recon force, together with cost-effective armored vehicles and infantry, enables this Polish tank division to perform well in all types of combat. Care should be taken against heavy or high-tech adversaries, however.

- GrupaDesantowa*: A unique half-airborne, half-naval infantry formation, the Polish battlegroup's well-trained soldiers are specialized in fast assaults. Heavy artillery, helicopters, and air cover should deal with whatever ground threats the enemy can muster.

East Germany/German Democratic Republic

- 4th Mot-schützendivision: This East German motorized division is capable of sustaining a high tempo of combat operation. Elite airborne troops can take the ground early, with the battlegroup then switching to a defense-in-depth with its upgraded second-generation armor, helicopters, and infantry.

- 7th Panzerdivision: Closing the distance and fighting as a brawler is this East Germany armored battlegroup's specialty. While the air force provides top cover, this tank division relies on superior numbers of the basic but capable T-72 to overwhelm the enemy at close range.

- 9th Panzerdivision*: The favored child of the East German army, this armored division features a wide array of capable T-72 tanks and IFVs. Infantry is limited, but this tank-heavy battlegroup fights best across open terrain with its long-range missile firing tank destroyers, artillery, and aircraft.

- KDA Bezirk Erfurt: A rear-area defensive formation with a large number of cheap reservists and militia at its disposal. This East German division counts on excellent artillery, anti-air, logistics, and additional Soviet support, including air cover.

- Berliner Gruppierung***: This division excels in high-intensity urban warfare, with some of the East Germans' finest infantry and artillery spearheading the fight. An older arsenal means this formation will have only limited options in open combat.

- Rugener Gruppierung***: A mobilized East German and Polish battlegroup with numerous anti-air options. Plentiful infantry allows it to fight well when under cover, as the division can direct powerful air strikes and specialized artillery to clear out entrenched enemies.

Czechoslovakia (Added as part of the SOUTHAG DLC)

- 1. Tanková Divize*: This offensively-minded Czechoslovakian tank division is well equipped with mechanized infantry and tanks. Notable is its numerous artillery, including the short-range SVO demining vehicle, which can be used to obliterate entrenched enemy positions.

- 2. Motostřelecká Divize**: This well-balanced Czechoslovakian motorized division comprises a large contingent of infantry and border guards, supported by an array of ATGM-armed T-55AM2B tanks. THis gives it a potent long-range punch, further backed by decent recon forces and artillery.

- 19. Motostřelecká Divize*: This well-rounded motorized rifle division can be used for a variety of offensive and defensive tasks. Capable Czechoslovakian special forces, recon, mechanized, and airmobile infantry supported in the field by an impressive artillery arsenal.

- 303. Tanková Divize*: A reserve tank division relying on older equipment, this Czechoslovakian rear-area formation is best used on defense. However, thanks to its numerical superiorty and support of a handful on modern units, the division can pose quite a challenge.
