The Vehicles (Excise) Act 1971 (c. 10) was an act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that consolidated enactments relating to excise duties on mechanically propelled vehicles, and to the licensing and registration of such vehicles, in Great Britain.[1]

Section 39(5) of the act repealed 15 enactments, listed in part I of the eighth schedule to the act, and revoked one order, listed in part II of that schedule.[2]

Subsequent developments

The whole act was repealed by section 65 of, and part I of schedule 5 to, the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994, which came into force on 1 September 1994.[3]
