Future
In 2016 during the planning stages for the Scarborough Subway Extension of Line 2 Bloor–Danforth, part of the plan was changed and redeveloped into a proposed 12-kilometre eastern extension of Line 5 Eglinton that would have a terminus at the University of Toronto Scarborough.[13] This concept evolved into the Eglinton East LRT, a proposed light rail line to replace the Line 5 extension and connect to the campus from Kennedy station.[14][15]
As of 2025, the Eglinton East LRT remains in the proposed stage, with the University of Toronto Scarborough considered as a stop.[16]
