Tunç Topçuoglu

Tunç Topçuoğlu (1976, Istanbul, Turkey), also known as Tunc Topcuoglu or TuncTop,^[1] is a Turkish filmmaker and art director^[2][3][4] based in Amsterdam and Istanbul.^[5][6]

Topçuoğlu graduated in 2007 from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam with a degree in graphic design.^[7][8]

His notable works include the documentary series Super Helal (2010, Mediamatic Amsterdam)^[9] and Molenwijk Originals (2019),^[10][11] as well as the documentaries Fearless Indigenous (2021)^[12][13] and Mokum Verhalen (2022).^[14]

He has worked as art director and copywriter at Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam^[15] and on projects for Nike,^[16][17] Pegasus Airlines,^[18] Muamma,^[19] Eypio^[20] and TurkCell.^[21]

Topçuoğlu often incorporates artificial intelligence in his practice, using it to test ideas and assist in generating visual content. He describes his use of the technology as analogous to a director collaborating with actors, establishing the concept and refining the outcome through iterative adjustments.^[22]
