Tovarich (1935 play)

Tovarich is a 1935 American play by Robert E. Sherwood. It was based on the play by Jacques Deval. It was filmed in 1937.

Reviewing the 1935 London production the New York Times wrote "it appears to me to be, in its present form, an uneven and in parts a shoddy play. Instead of seriously discussing and analyzing royalist feeling, it trades extravagantly in émigré sentimentality. It has so vague a critical point of view that one is not clearly and consistently conscious of the impact of the dramatist's mind on the events he describes."[1]
