The Dunes Club is a private beach and tennis club with eight hundred members, located at 137 Boston Neck Road in Narragansett, Rhode Island. The club occupies 28 acres (11 ha) of land fronting Narragansett Bay in central Narragansett, bounded on the north by the Pettaquamscutt River more colloquially known as Narrow River.

History

The Dunes Club's centerpiece is a clubhouse listed on the National Register of Historic Places, dating to 1939, designed by architect Thomas Pym Cope. It is the second structure built on the site. The first (circa 1929,) was in the storybook cottage style by club member, and architect, Kenneth Murchison. It was destroyed by the New England Hurricane of 1938. The only element of the club's original buildings that survived is its charming gatehouse.
