The Black Parade 2026 is a concert tour by the American rock band My Chemical Romance in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their third studio album, The Black Parade (2006). It serves as a continuation of the band's previous tour, Long Live The Black Parade (2025).[1][2] The tour started on January 25, 2026, in Lima, Peru, and is set to conclude on November 23, 2026, in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Background and history
Throughout 2025, My Chemical Romance embarked on their Long Live The Black Parade tour. The tour was in celebration of their third studio album, The Black Parade (2006), and the band would perform the album in its entirety.[1] Over time, the band announced additional tour dates throughout 2026, including dates in Mexico City,[3][4] London,[5] and regional tours in South America and Asia.[6]
On September 22, 2025, My Chemical Romance announced The Black Parade 2026, which serves as a continuation of Long Live The Black Parade. Additional dates were announced throughout the United States and Europe, while all of the aforementioned regional dates were relabeled as The Black Parade 2026.[7][1][2] The tour also serves as a celebration of the album's 20th anniversary.[2][1][8]
In November 2025, the band announced two final dates for the tour at the Hollywood Bowl on October 30 and 31, 2026, advertised as "Devil's Night" in reference to them taking place on Halloween weekend. In combination with the final three dates of the previously announced leg taking place at the Hollywood Bowl, the concerts make My Chemical Romance the first band to perform at the venue five times and were also intended to be the final dates of the tour.[9][10] In December, the band announced that the Southeast Asia leg of the tour would be delayed until November 2026, making the last scheduled date November 23, 2026 in Jakarta as part of the Hammersonic Festival.[11] They also delayed the first show of the Southern American leg in Colombia from January 22 to February 10.[12]
Production and concert synopsis
The Black Parade 2026 follows the same general outline as Long Live. The show sees My Chemical Romance performing the entirety of The Black Parade, dressed up in their Black Parade alter-ego uniforms. The theatrical performance is further centered around the fictional dictatorship of Draag, which was also the focus of Long Live. The Black Parade set is then followed by an encore where My Chemical Romance performs multiple songs from the rest of their discography.[13][14]
Alterations from Long Live
Multiple alterations were made to the production for The Black Parade 2026 in comparison to Long Live. The stage design is set entirely in a mental institution called 'MOAT', and background performers dressed as nurses and orderlies sometimes give the band medication during their performance. The band's updated uniforms were ditched in favor of ones that more closely resemble their original ones from the initial Black Parade World Tour in 2007. There are also more pre-recorded speeches than in Long Live.[13][14]
Songs that were given extended intros and outros in the 2025 tour retain them, including the "dagger" section of "Mama" and the "Big Sky" section of "Sleep", alongside the new "The Eye" intro for "The Sharpest Lives".[14][13] "Famous Last Words" also received a new outro with a reprise version of "Welcome to the Black Parade". The Black Parade also closes with a reprise version of "The End", which is played entirely on piano and strings.[14][13] At the end of the set, The Clerk—a character from Long Live that is played by Charlie Saxton—is wheeled out strapped to a hospital bed before Gerard Way's character climbs onto him and stabs him repeatedly.[13] Following the end of the Latin America leg of the tour in February, the band revealed that the 2026 shows up until then served narratively as a prequel to Long Live, which explains the alterations in setting and costumes.[15][16]
