Technopolis (often referred to as Rabat Technopolis) is a science and technology park located in Salé, near the Moroccan capital Rabat. Inaugurated in October 2008 by King Mohammed VI, it was developed by MedZ, a subsidiary of the CDG Group, to serve as a hub for the offshoring and high tech industries in Morocco.[1] The park's strategic development is aligned with the national digital transformation goals overseen by the Digital Development Agency (ADD).
Overview
The park covers an area of approximately 300 hectares and is designed to host companies specializing in ITO, BPO, and multimedia. It is situated in close proximity to the International University of Rabat (UIR), fostering collaboration between academia and industry.
Tenants
The park hosts several multinational corporations. In 2018, Amazon Web Services (AWS) established a presence in the park to serve its European and regional markets.[2] Other major tenants include Sofrecom (a subsidiary of Orange) and Lear Corporation, which operates a major automotive electronics facility at the site.[3]
