| State Language | മലയാളം | Malayalam is a Dravidian language, native to the Indian state of Kerala, where it is also the official language. Spoken by about 38 million people. Malayalam is one of the twenty-two scheduled languages of the Republic of India. It is the additional official language of the union territory of Lakshadweep and is one of the eleven languages designated as a classical language by the Government of India as of 2025.
