Sudhan Das

Sudhan Das is an Indian politician from Tripura, India.^[1] He is a member of Communist Party of India (Marxist).^[2] He was the member of Tripura Legislative Assembly from 1993 to 2023 representing Rajnagar.^{[3][4][5][6][7][8]}

Das starting his political career as a student leader, for 16 long years he was involved with student and youth movement. Later he became member of CPI(M). In 1988 he became local secretary of Shrirampur CPI(M) local committee. In 1993 Tripura Legislative Assembly election he contest the election with CPI(M) ticket and won that election. From that time he won Tripura Legislative Assembly election for 6 consecutive terms. In the year 2008 he elected as the member of Communist Party of India (Marxist) – Tripura state committee. In 2023 Tripura Legislative Assembly election he lost to the BJP candidate Swapna Majumder with margin of 1335.^[9][10] In 2024 Tripura Rajyasabha bye-poll he file his nomination as CPI(M) candidate,^{[11][12][13][14]} he lost to BJP candidate Rajib Bhattacharjee.^[15][16][17]
