Steinberg was the historical German name of a hill of 364 m near Eckersdorf (now Bożków) in historical Silesia. It was distinct from the nearby Ruinenberg (now Grodziszcze).[1] The hill forms the southernmost elevation of the Włodzickie Hills, a subrange of the Nowa Ruda Depression, which in turn forms part of the Sudetes.

The historical name Steinberg appears on the Messtischblatt TK25 5565 Glatz.[2][3]

Quarry

The Messtischblatt TK25 5565 from 1884 also marks a quarry at the hill, while the 1919 edition no longer does so. This suggests that the quarry had already been closed by 1919.[4][5]

A local account about the year 1945 also mentions a quarry on Steinberg. In dem letzten Kriegstagen diente der Steinberg als Waffenlager.[6]
