Silvester Wayiti (born in 1986) is a Namibian electrical engineer and entrepreneur.[1] He is currently chief executive of Northern Regional Electricity Distribution (NORED).[2]
Early life and education
Silvester Wayiti was born in Nyangana village, east of Rundu, in the Kavango East region of Namibia. He attended his primary school at Shitemo primary school in Shitemo village from grade 1-3, then moved to Rundu to school at Kehemu primary school. In 2000, he started grade 8 at St Boniface College until Grade 12 of which he completed in 2004. Wayiti got a scholarship from Nampower in 2005 to go study at the University of Cape Town and completed his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 2008. He obtained a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from the University of Pretoria in 2015.[3] In 2020, Silvester obtained a certificate in Executive Leadership from Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford.[1]
Career
Silvester joined Debmarine in 2009, and worked in Generation and Transmission Business Units. In February 2023, Silvester was appointed as the CEO of HopSol Africa.[2][4] In March 2026, Silvester was appointed as the chief executive of the electricity supplier Northern Regional Electricity Distribution (NORED).[2]
