Shujabad Tehsil, Sindh

Shujabad Tehsil (also spelled Shujabad Taluka) is an administrative subdivision of Mirpurkhas District in the province of Sindh, Pakistan.[1][2]

History

The tehsil was formed in 2012. Its named after Shuja Mohammad Shah, father of then Sindh Minister for Agriculture Syed Ali Nawaz Shah.[3]

Administration

The tehsil includes the Union councils: Mirwah Gorchani, Makhan Sammu and Jhilori.[3]

Population

The tehsil has a population of 185,654 as of 2023 Census.[4] The literacy rate of the district stands at 39.46%.[5]

Hinduism is followed by majority of the tehsil's population. Muslims forms a significant minority.[6]
