Sarconi (Lucano: Sarcùni) is a town and comune (municipality) in the Province of Potenza in the region of Basilicata in Italy. It has 1,441 inhabitants.[3]

Sarconi borders the municipalities of Castelsaraceno, Grumento Nova, Moliterno, and Spinoso.

Demographics

As of 2025, the population is 1,441, of which 51.5% are male, and 48.5% are female. Minors make up 13.6% of the population, and seniors make up 24.9%.[4]

Of the 1,369 residents at the time of the most recent count that included countries of birth, residents' countries of birth included the following countries, in descending order of frequency: Italy (1,258 – 91.9%), Bangladesh (40 – 2.9%), Romania (21 – 1.5%), Morocco (14 – 1%), India (10 – 0.7%).[7]
