Room No 106 is an upcoming Sri Lankan Sinhala thriller film directed by Suranga de Alwis and co-produced by Praveen Jayaratne, Jeewantha Kaldera, Pabodini Jayakody and Ishani Seneviratne for Sangeetha Films.[2] The film stars Bimal Jayakody in lead role where Shyam Fernando, Kalana Gunasekara, Damitha Abeyratne, Disney Rajapaksa, Naomi Thakshila and Priyantha Sirikumara made supportive roles.[3] The film is based on true incidents that occurred in the country, where the mass media covered the discovery of a bag containing a headless dead body found in a roadside.[4]

Production
This is the seventh cinema direction by Suranga de Alwis where he previously directed Raja Horu (2013), My Name Is Bandu (2015), Hora Police (2016), The Game, Theja (2025) and Kidnap (yet to screen).[5] Co-produced by Praveen Jayaratne, Jeewantha Kaldera, Pabodini Jayakody and Ishani Seneviratne. The screenplay is co-written by Dr. Senesh Dissanaike Bandara and Suneth Malinga Lokuhewa.[2][6]
Cinematography and editing handled by Praveen Jayaratne, whereas art direction done by Eheliyagoda Somathilaka, Indika Udara Lanka with makeup and Priyan Aruna Shyam as the costume designer. Nirukshan Ekanayake is the assistant director, Lakruwan Lokuhapuarachchi is the production manager. Sanka Dineth is the music director who also made the background vocals.[2][7]
Shooting of the film started in July 2024, where the production completed in January 2026.[8] The trailer and song launch of the film was held on the 16 May 2025 at 3:00pm at BMICH.[5]
The film will be released in March 2026 in Ridma circuit cinemas.[8][9]
