Rebellions Inc. (Korean: 리벨리온) is a South Korean semiconductor company founded in 2020 that develops and designs artificial intelligence chips.[1] Following a merger with Sapeon Korea, the company became South Korea's first "unicorn" in the AI chips industry.[2][3]

History

Rebellions was founded in September 2020 by Park Sung-hyun, Oh Jin-wook, Kim Hyo-eun, and Shin Sung-ho.[4]

The company launched its first chip, Ion, in 2021.[2]

In January 2024, Rebellions raised US$124 million in a Series B funding round led by South Korean telecom company KT.[5]

In December 2024, Rebellions mergered with Sapeon Korea, the AI chip subsidiary of SK Telecom.[6]

In September 2025, Rebellions raised $250 million at a $1.4 billion valuation.[7]
