Quillan Zane Salkilld (born 28 December 1999)[3] is an Australian mixed martial artist who currently competes in the Lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was featured on Dana White's Contender Series, winning by decision and earning a UFC contract.[4] He previously competed in Eternal MMA, where he was the EMMA Lightweight Champion.[5]
Early life
Salkilld was born on 28 December 1999, in Pinjarra, Western Australia and raised in Broome.[1][6] He grew up playing Australian rules football and skateboarding, and has cited Mike Tyson as his favorite combat sports athlete. He began training in mixed martial arts in March 2018.[7]
Mixed martial arts career
Amateur career
Salkilld began his amateur career with a loss at Eternal MMA 37 and concluded it with a first-round submission victory over Abdalla Biayda at Eternal MMA 53.[8] He also competed at the 2019 GAMMA World Championships.[9] He finished his amateur career with a record of 8–3.[2]
Early career
After opening his professional career with a loss, Salkilld rebounded with three consecutive victories, all by finish.[2] On 10 June 2023, he captured the Eternal MMA Lightweight Championship by knocking out Blake Donnelly just 41 seconds into the first round.[5] He went on to successfully defend the title twice.[10]
Dana White's Contender Series
On 3 September 2024, Salkilld faced Gauge Young at Dana White's Contender Series 70. He won the fight by unanimous decision, earning himself a UFC contract.[11]
Ultimate Fighting Championship
Salkilld made his UFC debut against Anshul Jubli at UFC 312 on 8 February 2025.[12] He won by knockout just 19 seconds into the fight.[13] This fight earned him his first Performance of the Night award.[14]
Salkilld faced Yanal Ashmouz at UFC 316 on 7 June 2025.[15] He won the fight by unanimous decision.[16]
Salkilld faced Nasrat Haqparast at UFC 321 on 25 October 2025.[17][18] He won the fight by knockout in the first round.[19] This fight earned him another Performance of the Night award.[20]
Salkilld was scheduled to face Rongzhu at UFC 325 on 31 January 2026. Rongzhu was forced to withdraw due to a knee injury and was replaced by Jamie Mullarkey.[21][22] Salkilld submitted Mullarkey in the first round.[23][24] This fight earned him a $100,000 Performance of the Night award.[25]
Salkilld is scheduled to face Beneil Dariush on 2 May 2026 at UFC Fight Night 275.[26]
