Controversies

2026 Hyderabad farmhouse drug case

In March 2026, Putta Mahesh Kumar was linked to an ongoing investigation following a police raid at a private farmhouse in Moinabad, near Hyderabad.[12]

According to media reports, Mahesh Kumar was among several individuals present at the venue. Subsequent medical tests conducted by authorities reportedly indicated the presence of banned substances in some attendees.[13]

A case was registered under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and an investigation was initiated.[14]

Mahesh Kumar denied the allegations, stating that he had attended a social gathering and had not engaged in any illegal activity.[15] He also expressed willingness to cooperate with investigating agencies. His political party, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), issued a show-cause notice seeking an explanation regarding his alleged involvement.[16]

As of now, the matter remains under investigation, and no court has established guilt.
