Ponteranica (Italian: [ponteˈraːnika]; Bergamasque: Potranga or Put de Ranga; lit.'Bridge to Ranica') is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Bergamo in the Italian region of Lombardy, located about 50 kilometres (31 mi) northeast of Milan and about 4 kilometres (2 mi) northwest of Bergamo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,866 and an area of 8.4 square kilometres (3.2 mi2).[3]

The source of the river Morla is located in Ponteranica. A part of its surface is occupied by Maresana Hill and some of its territory belongs to Parco dei Colli di Bergamo.

Ponteranica borders the following municipalities: Alzano Lombardo, Bergamo, Ranica, Sorisole, Torre Boldone, Zogno.
