    Between 1947 and 1981, the Bolivarian Games matches were played by amateur teams. However, in the 1947-48 edition, only Peru sent an amateur team; Bolivia and Venezuela – the other participants – played with their A team.

    The referee, Arturo Yamasaki, initially decided to send off Juan Seminario, Zaragoza's star striker, who was also Peruvian. Faced with pressure from the crowd, who opposed the expulsion, Yamasaki reconsidered his decision, and Seminario returned to the pitch.
