Patriot is an upcoming Indian Malayalam-language spy action thriller film written, co-edited, and directed by Mahesh Narayanan and produced by Anto Joseph and K. G. Anil Kumar. The film stars Mammootty, Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, and Revathy.[1] The film's original soundtrack and background score was composed by Sushin Shyam, with lyrics penned by Anwar Ali.[2]

The film is scheduled to be released worldwide on 23 April 2026.[3]

Cast

Production

Patriot is written and directed by Mahesh Narayanan in his first collaboration with Mammootty.[4][5] The project marks the collaboration between actors Mammootty and Mohanlal together after 13 years since Kadal Kadannu Oru Maathukutty (2013). Reports earlier suggested that actor Asif Ali had been approached to play a pivotal role in the film after Fahadh Faasil temporarily exited the project due to scheduling conflicts.[6] However, Faasil later rejoined the project. The film was initially reported to involve actor Suresh Gopi, but Mohanlal later assumed the role.

Principal photography began in November 2024 in Sri Lanka. The film was shot across several domestic and international locations including Hyderabad (at Ramoji Film City), the United Kingdom (including London), New Delhi, Kashmir, Coimbatore and Kochi. Following the initial schedule in Sri Lanka, the production moved to Hyderabad for studio sequences at Ramoji Film City before continuing filming in London and other locations in the United Kingdom. The final schedule of the film was completed in Kochi in early 2026.

Sushin Shyam composed the film's music and background score.[7]
