Paro Pinaki Ki Kahani is a 2026 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film written and directed by Rudra Jadon.[1] The film stars Eshitta Siingh and Sanjay Bishnoi in lead roles, with a supporting cast featuring Madan Deodhar, Dhananjay Sardeshpande, and Hanuman Soni.[2][3] Produced under Seraphity Studios and 363 Trees Production, the film addresses social issues such as manual scavenging and human trafficking.[4][5][6]
Plot
The story revolves around Pinaki (Sanjay Bishnoi), a manhole cleaner, and Mariyam (Eshitta Siingh), a vegetable vendor. The two meet secretly in train toilets during their daily commutes and fall in love.[7][8] Their relationship faces severe obstacles due to their socioeconomic background and systemic biases. When Mariyam suddenly disappears, Pinaki's search for her exposes a harsh reality involving rural exploitation and the harrowing practice of girls being sold in certain communities.[9]

Release and reception
The film received an "A" certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification and was released on 6 February 2026.[4]
Critical reception was mixed. The Times of India gave the film 2.5/5 stars, praising its intent and performances but criticizing the "disjointed" screenplay.[1] Conversely, ABP News awarded it 3.5/5 stars, describing it as a "deeply moving film" that surprises and leaves the audience thinking.[5] Dainik Jagran highlighted the film's grounded reality and its emotional impact on viewers.[10]
Rahul Desai of The Hollywood Reporter India Said that "Rudra Jadon’s low-budget indie about an interfaith couple in a crisis is undone by weak craft."[11] Devesh Sharma of Filmfare rated it 3/5 stars and said that "Paro Pinaki Ki Kahani has its heart in the right place. It depicts a love story set amidst the marginalised."[12]
