PEI Youth Centre[1] also known as Summerside Youth Centre is a youth detention centre that opened in 1988,[2] in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada. It holds youth aged 12 to 17 and it has a capacity of 32 although they are only staffed to handle 16 people.[3]
In February 2021, the province started holding adult females at the youth centre, though it is said to be temporary, citing capacity issues at the adult prison.[4]
