Nicolás Pirozzi (born 12 February 2002) is a Uruguayan and Chilean alpine ski racer who represents Uruguay and specializes in the slalom and giant slalom events.

Personal life

Pirozzi was born in Chile in 2002, the youngest of five children, to a Chilean father and a Uruguayan mother from Salto, who met while pursuing a master's degree in Naples, Italy.[1][2]

Career

Pirozzi made his international debut on 26 July 2018 in a FIS giant slalom event at El Colorado. He competed in his first major international event at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics, where he represented Chile and achieved Chile's best result to date, placing 14th in the giant slalom.[3][4]

At the end of the 2023–2024 season, Pirozzi switched national teams, representing Uruguay from that point forward.[5]

In 2026, Pirozzi became the second Uruguayan skier after Gabriel Hottegindre to qualify for the Winter Olympics.[6]
