Monkey Tilt is an American cryptocurrency-focused online casino and sportsbook company based in Las Vegas, Nevada.[1][2][3]
History
Monkey Tilt was founded in 2024 by Sam Kiki. Kiki held positions in MGM Resorts and Caesars Entertainment. Prior to its launch, the company raised $21 million in seed funding round led by Polychain Capital,[4] marking one of the largest investments in the iGaming blockchain sector at the time.[1] In November 2024, the company announced a $30 million Series A funding round led by U.S hedge fund, Pantera Capital,[5][2] with additional participation from PokerGO.[6] Some of the investors include celebrities Tyga and Ryan Garcia.[7][8]
To further develop its platform and global reach,[3][9][10] the platform integrated blockchain technology, NFT-based player rewards, and crypto payments, to bridge Web3 culture and mainstream entertainment.[11][12][13] Coverage from AOL Finance and Yahoo Finance described the round as part of a broader effort to make online gaming more social and community-driven,[14][15] being one of the first platforms to support cryptocurrency staking, integrating transactions in bitcoin, ethereum, dogecoin, amongst other stablecoins.[16]
Platform
Monkey Tilt provides an online casino and sportsbook.[17][18] The sportsbook accepts wagers on more than twenty sports, as well as esports and virtual sports.[17][19] The casino includes games from third party providers including Evolution and Pragmatic Play, and in-house games under the "MT Originals" label.[20] A live casino section offers dealer-mediated games including baccarat and roulette.[21][22] The platform has over 3,000 games.[23] It prioritizes VIP experiences, social engagement, proprietary games, affiliate tools, and in-house infrastructure, with cryptocurrency positioned as infrastructure rather than the primary brand focus.[18][19]
The company released non-fungible token (NFT) collections. The tokens do not affect gameplay or wagering.[17][24] From November 2024, Monkey Tilt allowed users to wager on player statistical predictions.[25][19]
Sponsorships and partnerships
In addition to its gaming, the company partnered with Complex Networks and PokerGO during Super Bowl LIX to host a $1 million jackpot[26][27][28] at the Family Style festival in New Orleans,[29][30] which included a branded vehicle produced in collaboration with West Coast Customs.[31][32][33] In 2024, the company signed boxer Edgar Berlanga as a brand ambassador.[34][35]
