Mongolia Trophy
The Rostaing Mongolia Trophy[1] is an annual adventure race held in Central Mongolia. The event was first organized in 2012 and is typically scheduled for late August.[2]
History
The Mongolia Trophy was created in 2011, with the inaugural edition held in 2012. The race spans six days of expedition-style Adventure racing and is supported by the Mongolian Ministry of Tourism. Organizers emphasize minimal environmental impact, and all competitors must follow strict rules regarding biodiversity and conservation. Failure to comply may result in penalties.
Race format
Each edition of the trophy challenges teams to complete various adventure disciplines, including trekking, mountain biking, and river crossings. Teams compete in small groups and must navigate remote terrain using only maps and compasses.
