Miguel Amor Molares (Ferrol, Spain, 1973) is a geomatics engineer, senior executive and Spanish-American author. An expert in Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS),[1] he is the president of Septentrio, a Hexagon AB subsidiary.[2] He is the author of AmericanoSÍ: From Spain to the US: What Nobody Tells You About Working and Living in America (2025).

Education and professional development

Miguel Amor holds a degree in Survey Engineering from the University of Extremadura and a degree in Geomatics from the University of León, as well as an Executive MBA from the Escuela Europea de Negocios.

He has combined a technical background in engineering with strategic business management throughout his professional career, which began in the United States in 2008. Between 2003 and 2015, he held various management positions at Trimble Navigation Limited before joining Hexagon in 2015.[3]

Having served as Chief strategy officer (CSO) and Chief marketing officer (CMO),[4] he was appointed president of Septentrio, Hexagon's division dedicated to designing and manufacturing high-precision GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) in 2025. Recognised as a leading expert in GNSS,[5] he lectures,[6] and sits on the editorial board of GPS World magazine where he frequently contributes articles addressing technical and business challenges in the GNSS industry.[7]

He has seven active patents in the fields of positioning technologies and RFID technology, focusing on positioning and navigation systems.[8]

He is the author of AmericanoSÍ: De España a EE. UU.: lo que nadie te cuenta sobre trabajar y vivir en América ("Americano SÍ: From Spain to the U.S.: What Nobody Tells You About Working and Living in America"), a non-fiction book that goes beyond migration to examine cultural differences in leadership and corporate life between Spain and the United States. Drawing on his executive experience in North America, the book analyzes contrasts in management style, decision-making, meritocracy, communication, and career development, offering practical insights for professionals operating in transatlantic business environments.
