Merník (Hungarian: Merészpatak, until 1899: Mernyik) is a village and municipality in Vranov nad Topľou District in the Prešov Region of eastern Slovakia.

History

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1363. A former mercury mine was situated near the village.[4][5]

Geography

The municipality lies at an altitude of 176 metres (577 ft)[3] and covers an area of 11.58 km2 (4.47 sq mi) (2024).[6]
