Mazaruni-Potaro

Mazaruni-Potaro is a former district of British Guiana and later of the independent country of Guyana. Its capital was Bartica. It was abolished with the administrative reforms of 1980. Much of its territory is now part of Cuyuni-Mazaruni, also known as Region 7.[1][2] It bears the names of the Mazaruni and Potaro rivers.

The name Mazaruni-Potaro still appears as part of a location in collections of biological and geological specimens, reflecting the district's name at the time a specimen was collected.[3]
